The stone is an intense, deep blue with plenty of life to it, and it is accented nicely by the sparkling diamonds set into the sides. This stone is from Sri Lanka, also called Old Ceylon. Sri Lanka is the source of the finest sapphire in the world, and this stone is no exception. The color is rich and deep, without being overly dark. As with most of our precious gems, we purchased this stone on location during one of our frequent buying trips.
