Utterly exquisite! Four simple structural prongs hold a lovely set of synthetic Alexandrites. The prongs both secure and frame the stone, letting plenty of light to shine through. Synthetic Alexandrite is a color changing stone and will reflect shades of regal purple to a teal green-blue depending on the light that hits the stone. Accented by a bar set with deep blue sapphires and sparkling diamonds these drops are finished with simple leverback findings making the both secure and comfortable on the ear!
This stone dates back to the 1950s when synthetic corundum was produced to imitate synthetic alexandrite. In the vintage and estate industry, these synthetic corundum (synthetic sapphire) gemstones from this period are almost always referred to as synthetic alexandrite even though they are chemically synthetic corundum. The chemical properties of this stone are synthetic corundum but the trade name is synthetic alexandrite.
