This antique cameo is exquisitely made! The 14K rose gold backing was crafted by hand, and each small seed pearl was set by hand. The main stone is onyx, expertly decorated with milligrain and twisting wire, and edged with pretty pearls. This in turn is topped with a collectors quality carving in the profile of a Victorian Matron, likely Queen Victorian herself. This piece dates to the early 1900s.
This can be worn as a brooch, with the added security of the secondary safety pin and chain, or as a pendant. A name ( Possibly of the cameo maker) is engraved on the back, along with an ID number. The name appears to read: M. Linnit, and the numbers are 52 and B740.
Love this piece but want to make it more versatile, we here at Market Square Jewelers along with our master metalsmiths can convert this fantastic brooch into a necklace or pendant for an additional fee, please contact Alex for more information!
