Beautifully kept, vintage concha pieces such as this were traditionally made of coin, or pawn, silver. The shape and style of the concha pieces are taken from the silver pieces that decorated the bridles and saddles and belt buckles of the Spanish. The design was adapted and incorporated into the tribal designs of the American Southwest, particularly the work of the Navajo silversmiths.
This piece has been crafted into a brooch, making it a wonderful accessory for the riding jacket of any cowgirl!
Love this piece but want to make it more versatile, we here at Market Square Jewelers along with our master metalsmiths can convert this fantastic brooch into a necklace or pendant for an additional fee, please contact us for more information!
