The mineral sillimanite falls into the same gemstone family as kyanite and andalusite. Most often found as a cat’s eye, opaque stone, it occasionally forms as a large, clear gem while still retaining the trademark cat’s eye phenomenon. Sillimanite is known for it’s beautiful refraction, and this stone is no exception to that rule, seeming to shine with a moonlike aura.
We’ve set this into a sixties era cocktail ring featuring a frame of etched, leafy gold.
